Overview

MaxGear® provides the most comprehensive IRATA & SPRAT rope access training course at an in-door training center with state of the art facilities. We have a 10 meter high tower with stairs and a structure ladder which allows us to create real life scenarios.

Our highly experienced instructors teach rope access courses worldwide. We offer a consistent course that allows a technician to be hired by the larger rope access companies, without being retrained.

Aims

To train personnel to a rope access level which will maintain and enhance current levels of professionalism, competence and safety existent within the rope access industry. Also to promote rope access as an integral part of the modern multi-disciplined workforce.

Who should attend?

Technicians requiring the ability to access difficult and exposed work sites as part of a rope access work team, in order to perform a wide range of standard trade skills in a safe and efficient manner at different levels. It should be noted that a certain degree of physical fitness and a head for heights are important.

Structure

The course is highly practical and physical in nature. With the majority of time being spent on rope, preparing for assessment. There is also a theory element, delivering the necessary knowledge of standards and equipment important for general day to day safety.

IRATA & SPRAT LEVELS

Pre-Qualification

IRATA Level 1: 18 years old, head for height, medically fit and minimum 4 days of training.

IRATA Level 2: Minimum 1 year, 1000 logged rope hours as Level 1 and minimum 4 days of training.

IRATA Level 3: Minimum 1 year and 1000 logged rope hours as Level 2, a valid First Aid Certificate and minimum 4 days of training.

 

SPRAT Level 1: 18 years old, head for height and medically fit.

SPRAT Level 2 : Minimum 6 months, 500 hours of work experience as a Level 1.

SPRAT Level 3: Minimum 6 months, 500 hours of work experience as a Level 2 and have a valid First Aid Certificate

 

Certification is valid for three years from the date of the assessment.

 

Direct entry

For direct entries or conversions from SPRAT L3 to IRATA L3 email us and we can explain all about it.

Hours worked shall be the time actually spent carrying out rope access tasks including rigging, training, working on rope, and on-site safety management.

    Experience documentation can be presented in other formats provided the following information is presented:
  • Date of Work
  • The employer for which the work was done
  • Details of rope access tasks and application
  • Location and type of structure
  • Hours worked
  • Signature of supervisor, employer, or client verifying hours worked
 

Level 1

A rope access technician who is able to perform a limited range of rope access tasks under the supervision of an IRATA level 3 rope access technician.

NOTE:While in the process of being trained to level 1, a person should be considered to be a trainee.

Level 2

A rope access technician who is capable of rigging working ropes, undertaking rescues and performing rope access tasks under the supervision of an IRATA level 3 safety supervisor.

IRATA and SPRAT Training info - Level 2

Level 3

A rope access technician who is capable of site supervision for rope access work projects; is able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required of levels 1, 2 and 3; is conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation; has a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques; holds a current first aid certificate and has knowledge of the IRATA certification scheme.

Starting at $2000 per person

 

SPRAT and IRATA together for $2000 incl. certification, ex tax..

Course has to be paid up front and four weeks prior to the start of the course and can be done by Credit Card.

Lunches are provided.

Equipment: Use of equipment is included in the price. You can use your own gear but it will be subjected to an inspection by our instructor prior to use.

Wear loose fitting clothes appropriate to the activities.
